The much anticipated Digicel Cup Round 6 game between Agamark Rabaul Gurias and Bintangor Goroka Lahanis has been relocated due to air travel issues.
The game will now be played in Lae on Saturday August 15, 2020.
PNG National Rugby League Competition (NRLC) Manager Stanley Hondina in a statement said due to the rescheduling of flights attributed to the restrictions forced on by the pandemic, the Goroka to Kokopo sector has not been possible resulting in the relocation of this game.
“Convenient flights for this sector was not viable and possible scenarios were considered and in close consultation with both Lahanis and Gurias management to reach this conclusion,” Hondina said.
“As I have always repeatedly stated, these trying times need all stakeholders to stand and work together as a team and this decision is an indication of such unity which has got our premier competition thus far to round
He said this game will be played in Lae on Saturday August 15, 2020 and the usual ticket price of K20 per person (Children under 3 are Free) will apply.
“Gates at the Lae Rugby League ground open at 12 noon with Kick off at 2.00pm,” Hondina said.
He said Sunday August 16, 2020 double header in Lae - Lae Snax Tigers vs Kimbe Cutters and EPG Enga Mioks against PRK Gulf Isou – will go ahead as scheduled with 1st game kicking off at 1.15pm.
