The Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) and WR Carpenters Group of Companies today signed a three year sponsorship agreement in Port Moresby.
PNGRFL CEO Reatau Rau said the signing of the Agreement formalises the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in December 2018.
“This agreement covers the SP Hunters, PNG Orchids and the Coca-Cola National Schools Rugby League,” Rau said.
He said the PNGRFL was grateful to WR Carpenters in particular Boroko Motors over the past several years in providing transportation when required throughout the country.
“Boroko Motors have been supportive in meeting our transport requirements with all our programs throughout PNG,” Rau said. “Today we welcome the addition of their other well-known brands like National No 1 Tea, Daltron, Sigri Coffee and Courts to our family of partners,” Rau said.
He said the Sigri Coffee logo was on the SP Hunters ‘away’ jersey while the popular Boroko Motors logo is displayed on the ‘home’ jersey.
“On behalf of the PNGRFL Chairman Sandis Tsaka, Board, Coach Michael Marum and his staff and players, I express sincere gratitude to WR Carpenters Group of Companies for increasing their investment to the development of rugby league in PNG,” Rau said.
WR Group of Companies Country Manager John Mangos said, “We are proud to be involved in rugby league especially seeing that the sport is now becoming more family friendly. Seeing our Sigri Coffee and Boroko Motors brands on the SP Hunters jerseys is a great start. We look forward to developing this relationship through the course of this sponsorship as we believe this is a great code to showcase our many brand names.”
