The Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League today announced the Oil Search PNG Orchids team to take on the Brisbane Broncos Women’s team in Port Moresby on Saturday.

Oil Search Orchids Committee Executive Chairperson Ruth Waram said in a statement that the team comprises a number of young players as well as a few old faces.

Waram thanked the Brisbane Broncos Women’s Rugby League team for the opportunity to participate in this trial match – which should boost the Orchids preparation for remaining engagements for the year. The Oil Search PNG Orchids remaining events for the year are the Women’s Rugby League World Cup 9s in Sydney in October and the British Lions tour to PNG in November.

The Oil Search PNG Orchids team for this weekend’s trial match against the Brisbane Broncos Women will be coached by Pacific Games silver medal winning coach Bagello Solien.

Meanwhile the PNG Kumuls legends team is expected to be named tomorrow (Tuesday).

The PNG legends play the Brisbane Broncos legends at 2pm followed by the Oil Seach PNG Orchids versus Brisbane Broncos Women’s game at 4pm this Saturday August 31, 2019 at the Oil Search National Football Stadium in Port Moresby.
