The Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) today announced a new accommodation partnership deal with Airways Hotel in Port Moresby.
PNGRFL CEO Reatau Rau said the partnership will cover accommodation for the visiting Intrust Super Cup teams that travel into Port Moresby to play our SP Hunters.
“As you know, part of our agreement to participate in the Queensland Intrust Super Cup is to provide accommodation for all visiting teams,” Rau said. “It will be a great opportunity to be attached with a legendary Hotel like Airways which is locally owned,” Rau added.
He said the added value to having these teams stay here gives the players an environment they can enjoy. “There is space where they can walk around, a pool they can use for rehab, recreational areas to enjoy and first class service provided for their comfort,” Rau said.
Rau said the announcement was timely as the participation agreement in the Queensland ISC competition will be signed in Brisbane tomorrow. “On Thursday will be the 1st CEOs meeting for 2019 when the CEOs of those teams travelling up will be advised that their new home away from Brisbane is at the Airways Hotel and they will not be disappointed with the first class facilities and service they will enjoy,” Rau said.
Airways Hotel Operations Manager Manu Bajaj on behalf of General Manager Sushil Gordon said: “We are more than happy to be a part of PNG RFL and to support rugby league in Port Moresby, PNG for our people. We wish all the teams very best for the competition.”
