FRANK IN, RAU OUT

Junior Rau has been omitted for this weekend’s Rnd 7 Intrust Super Cup game against Ipswich Jets at the Oil Search National Football Stadium in Port Moresby. Rau was dropped for missing two training sessions after the team returned from Brisbane on Sunday following their first win against Central Queensland Capras on Saturday night.

Last weekend’s debutant off the interchange bench and Hunter No.80 Joe Frank has been named in the starting line up to replace Rau. Captain Adex Wera, Gairo Kapana and Rex Kaupa have been named in the extended bench.

Coach Michael Marum will finalise the 17 man team an hour before kick- off. The Round 7 clash is themed “Colour Rush” and involves five teams – SP Hunters, Norths Devils, Northern Pride, Wynnum Manly Seagulls and Mendi Blackhawks – who are proudly supported by EMU Sportswear and EV2. The SP Hunters will wear the “Red’ exclusive ‘Colour Rush 2019’ jerseys. The game against Ipswich Jets kicks off at 3pm on Saturday April 20 at NFS. Gates open at 11am. The 1st Digicel Cup game between Gulf Isou and Rabaul Gurias kicks off at 12.15pm.  At 5.00pm is the 2nd Digicel Cup match between NCDC Pom Vipers and Hela Wigmen.
